Boarding Actions:
California is back! Dont'
miss it!
Welcome to the Historical Maritime Combat Association.
This website promises to be a focal point for the growing interest in personal
maritime weaponry of the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries.
From the history of the weapons, to the methods behind their use, to the stories of their involvement in the Age of Sail, the HMCA intends to cover it all.
No other website or group has concentrated so much effort to the defining of these particular arts and tactics. The requests for workshops and seminars across the country show an increasing interest in the weapons and fighting methods of 17th to 19th century seamen.
Among these pages you'll find discourses on the weapons of the time, locations for individual classes and weekend-long seminars and book reviews as well as links to various suppliers in weapons, clothing and accoutrements of the sailing days of old.
The HMCA would like to take this opportunity to thank you for joining us in this, an exciting and vastly unexplored area of the fighting arts.
Sincerely,
Gareth Thomas
Director; Historical Maritime Combat Assoc.
