F. Braun McAsh has been a professional fight director and actor since 1976. His
initial studies in swordwork were with Maestro Patrick Crean and Olympic Sabre
Coach Istvan Danosi. Later he travelled for many years in England and Europe
studying with various masters and also doing extensive research into arms and
armour at over 100 museums and castle collections including the Tower of London.
His studies have taken him to the U.S., England, Scotland, Wales, Switzerland,
the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and Romania. As a
professional fight director, he has choreographed over 120 productions, films
and television shows including the Stratford and Shaw Festivals and the Canadian
Opera Company. He is best known as the Swordmaster for seasons 3 through 6 of
the TV series HIGHLANDER and the last movie, HIGHLANDER IV:ENDGAME. He has won
five awards as an actor and fight director. As an instructor, he has taught at
over 30 theatre schools in Canada, the U.S. and England and recently completed
his third session as a Master Instructor at the Paddy Crean International Combat
Workshop. He has also studied the Asian martial arts for 34 years and is an
expert in firearms.
